Does the Planner support fractional durations?

The Planner supports whole days as the smallest time increment for durations. Our decision to stick with whole day granularity is meant to be a pragmatic approximation that prioritizes ease of use and performance while not changing results in a meaningful way (vs. the results you'd get with partial days).

Some of the benefits we see are:

• Faster calculations
• Smoother drag & drop interactions
• Consistency with other inputs that are defined daily or monthly
• Cleaner interface for all time-based components
• Easier to manage data in Excel & integrate with other tools

We allow users to apply group durations that are automatically allocated to wells, and we round calculated durations. With these features we find that results have very little variance when compared to models that use partial days.
